Hear examples about the consequences of unresolved conflict from both leaders and their team’s perspective, and what is expected from a manager when conflicts arise.

Session 1 - Foundations of Conflict: The Key Principles, Causes and Essential Skills for Effective Management

Conflict is often seen as a barrier to productivity, but when managed effectively, it can be a powerful catalyst for positive change. The key to unlocking this potential lies in grasping the root causes and dynamics of conflict, and addressing them with empathy, clarity, and strategic foresight.

In our first session led by Joanne Marriott MIML, IML Facilitator, we will delve into the fundamentals of conflict.

You will uncover the critical elements that ignite conflict, learn to recognise signs of escalation before they disrupt your team, and gain insight into the stages of conflict. We will also examine both current and emerging causes of conflict in the workplace and explore practical strategies for preventing and managing disputes.

This session will equip you with essential tools to proactively manage conflict, transforming it from a challenge into an opportunity to turn conflict into a driving force for positive change.

Session 2 - Stop Conflict from Turning Toxic: Strategies for Effective Resolution

In our second session for this Development Day, Mark Grdovich, in-house employment and workplace lawyer, will delve into the critical role leaders play in resolving workplace conflict.
