Thanks for joining us at another informative Development Day
The past few years brought unprecedented changes that significantly impacted workplace communication. While core communication principles remained constant, their application transformed due to shifting contexts.
Navigating communication in the new work landscape grew complex, with channels, noise sources, and feedback quality evolving. Coupled with technological advancements and a multi-generational workforce, effective communication became more challenging.
Modern technology boosted connectivity but increased burnout and blurred work-life boundaries. At the recent Development Day, we explored all this change and focused on three angles: vital performance conversations, the art of Thinking on Your Feet®, and adapting to evolving communication. He delves into the 9 common barriers to communication and elaborates on how to break down those barriers to reunite communication amongst employees in the organisation. He discusses a new approach to praising employee performance that includes the 5 conversation frameworks.

In this session Pam Harris had us thinking on our feet! Pam identified many different concepts around how we think and our natural style of thinking from logical, detailed ways to intuitive, go-with-the-flow ways of thinking. She also delves into the theme of seeing things in threes.
Navigating Internal Communication in the New World of Work
In this session, IML’s very own Scott Martin discussed various communication methods and the changes that have occurred as a result of post-Covid living and the impact of hybrid workplaces. He also discussed the impact and cost to business of too many meetings and how we can be more effective in our approach to time spent online. Scott shared some ideas around picking the right type of methods and online mediums to suit your audience and your message.
