Migration Skills Assessment Guide

Before Applying

The Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia and New Zealand is contracted as an assessing authority by the Australian Government to assess senior-level management skills, for the purpose of skilled migration to Australia.

Before applying for a skills assessment, please ensure that the visa you are applying for requires a skills assessment and that IML ANZ is the appropriate assessing authority for your occupation.

Our skills assessment process evaluates both your higher education degree and your employment history for up to 10 years.

A positive outcome from the skills assessment issued by IML ANZ is valid for three years.

Check our scope

Make sure IML ANZ is the appropriate assessing authority for your occupation. If your occupation falls outside of our scope, please refer to the Skilled occupation list to find the appropriate assessing authority for your occupation. You can also find a list of all assessing authorities on the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs website here. You can view the occupations that we assess here:

Read the Document Checklist

You must read the Document Checklist thoroughly to understand what supporting documents you will need to prepare and how to compile them.

Submit your application

IML ANZ only accepts online applications via our website. If you have questions regarding the timeframe, please visit our Fee and Timeframe page. If an application is incomplete or there are inconsistent documents, this will delay the process of your application.
