The Institute of Managers and Leaders ANZ is excited to announce the re-launch of our very own professional accreditation for managers and leaders in Australia and New Zealand:

Certified Practising Manager (CPMgr)

Six years ago, we entered into a partnership with the UK based Chartered Management Institute to provide the Chartered Manager accreditation to the Australian and New Zealand market. Since this time, the Institute of Managers and Leaders ANZ has grown and evolved. What was once solely a membership and events focused organisation is now Australia and New Zealand’s peak organisation for management and leadership development, with a full suite of leadership programs, short courses, customised workplace solutions and diagnostic tools.

We have received feedback from local employers and members that our market is unique, with its own set of challenges and opportunities. Now is the perfect time for us to provide a professional accreditation that specifically aligns to the needs of managers and leaders based in Australia and New Zealand.  We are, therefore, excited to re-launch the Institute of Managers and Leaders own Certified Practising Manager accreditation.

In addition to our own accreditation, we have also renewed our agreement with the United Kingdom’s Chartered Management Institute to enable us to continue to offer the Chartered Manager designation.

Certified Practising Manager provides:

  • A professional accreditation that is aligned to IML’s code of conduct, competency framework and professional development activities. Recognising management and leadership excellence that is unique to the Australian and New Zealand markets.
  • Better commitment to your ongoing management and leadership development with dedicated CPD requirements, a CPD Portal and an up to date and constantly evolving library of resources.
  • A more cost-effective accreditation.
  • The same access to your membership community.

Your Options

As a current Chartered Manager, you have several options for your accreditation moving forward. For further information, register to attend an upcoming webinar discussing the changes to the accreditations offered by the Institute.

Option A

Obtain Certified Practising Manager (CPMgr) accreditation

Obtain the Australian and New Zealand based accreditation and have greater access to CPD resources.

This option allows you to obtain the accreditation free of charge, by simply nominating your preference below and without the need to undertake the CPMgr application process (based on your Chartered Manager status).  

By electing Option A, you are advising us that you do not wish to renew your Chartered Manager accreditation.

  • CPMgr MIML – $345
  • CPMgr AFIML – $395
  • CPMgr FIML – $465

Option B

Maintain Chartered Manager (CMgr) accreditation with CMI through the Institute

We will facilitate the maintenance of your Chartered Manager status through our partnership with CMI. 

While your CMI Membership remains heavily discounted, it will increase in line with the terms of our renewed agreement with CMI. 

This year that cost will be AUD$150 on top of your Institute membership fee.

  • CMgr AFIML – $545

  • CMgr FIML – $615

Option C

Obtain Certified Practising Manager (CPMgr) accreditation, as well as maintaining your Chartered Manager (CMgr) status

Obtain CPMgr status in addition to Chartered Manager status.

There will be no additional charge for the CPMgr component of your accreditation, and you will not be required to undertake the CPMgr application process.

You will be required to pay the higher annual fee referred to in Option B to maintain your Chartered Manager status with the CMI, i.e. we pass on the costs charged by CMI to you.
