You’ll hear from Adrian Tembel, Chair, South Australian Productivity Commission (SAPC), who will share insights on South Australia’s economic performance, the Commission’s recently announced Red Tape Reduction Review and what it means for you as a leader. He will then be joined by Maddie Frew, Manager, Development and Regulatory Services, City of Marion, for an engaging discussion exploring the key trends, challenges and opportunities expected to shape leadership and business success in South Australia in 2027.

Chair, South Australian Productivity Commission
Short Bio
Adrian Tembel is the Chair, South Australian Productivity Commission and through that role he is a key independent economic advisor to the South Australian Premier. He is also the Chief Executive Partner of major Australian corporate law firm Thomsons. He is considered to be a national expert on sub-national government economic policy as well as one of Australia's most prominent and respected law firm leaders.
Maddie Frew
Manager, Development and Regulatory Services at the City of Marion
Short Bio
Maddie Frew is an accomplished South Australian local government leader with expertise spanning strategic planning, governance, infrastructure, regulatory services and organisational improvement. Currently Manager, Development & Regulatory Services, City of Marion, she has held executive and senior leadership roles across metropolitan and regional councils, leading major planning, performance and community development initiatives.
With qualifications in both Law and Urban & Regional Planning, Maddie brings a practical perspective on driving productivity, managing change and translating long-term strategy into measurable outcomes for organisations and communities.
