Short Bio

Gavin Compton is a thought leader, futurist, senior business improvement, organisational transformation leader, and practitioner. Initially trained in the automotive industry, Gavin has worked across the public and private sectors in many different industries and organisational settings over a 40-year career.

Gavin's approach to driving sustained change is agnostic, drawing from various theories, frameworks, methodologies, and associated tools. This adaptability allows him to effectively solve complex business problems across different organisational structures, systems, and processes.

Gavin's expertise is backed by solid credentials. He holds a bachelor's degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from The University of Adelaide and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a Certified Practicing Manager and Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia, New Zealand, and a Charter Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute in the UK. He is certified in artificial intelligence transformation and holds internationally recognised project, programme, and benefits management certifications from the UK.  Gavin also studied futures under the world-renowned futurist Sohail Inayatullah.

When he's not immersed in the world of business improvement and organisational transformation, Gavin enjoys life in Adelaide, South Australia, with his wife, daughter, and their beloved cats.

Siobhan O'Sullivan

Short Bio

With over 25 years of experience spanning fintech, mortgages, logistics, and retail, Siobhan O’Sullivan is a dynamic force in Australia's innovation landscape. Currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) ACS, she drives strategic initiatives to propel the nation's tech sector forward.

Siobhan's influence extends beyond her role at ACS. She serves as a Director/Advisory Board member for Wych (Banking as a Service) and Silicon Beach Australia, the esteemed innovation community. As an Innovation Mentor and Lecturer at the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School (AFTRS), Siobhan shares her expertise with aspiring creators and entrepreneurs. She also contributes her insights as an Education Board Advisor to SP Jain Global School of Management and a Board Advisor to BrainSTEM, shaping the future of STEM leadership.

Her commitment to fostering global connections is evident in her role as an Advisory Board Member and Mentor with Enterprise Ireland, guiding Irish businesses in scaling operations across Australia.

Siobhan holds an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM), complemented by a Diploma in Project Management and a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. Additionally, her Associate Degree of Applied Science in Hospitality Management underscores her diverse skill set, while her Black Belt in Hap Ki Do reflects her disciplined approach to challenges.

 

Wayne Smithson

Short Bio

Wayne has held a number of senior finance positions including Finance Director for a number of national and international companies over a commercial career extending in excess of 40 years. Most notable senior positions that Wayne has held include National Finance Director for Ernst & Young and Finance Director for the Bank of New Zealand in Australia. Wayne has also had significant international experience in the Asia- Pacific region where, as Regional Finance Director for the region of a Swiss based professional services organisation, he was involved in a number of key business acquisitions. As well as holding a Master’s degree in Business Administration and an undergraduate Degree from Macquarie in accounting, Wayne is a qualified CPA and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Fellow and Chartered Manager of IML ANZ. In addition, Wayne has had an extensive career in teaching at a Higher education level. In 2010 Wayne taught at a number of universities and college’s including Western Sydney University, Charles Sturt University, Federation University and Charles Darwin University. As a senior lecturer and Program Director for the Undergraduate Programs, Wayne taught both graduate and undergraduate programs across both Business and Accounting Disciplines, successfully combining theoretical and practical application drawing on his extensive years of commercial experience in particular at the Board and Director Level. Wayne is currently a member of the Academic senate for UBSS, is a Finance Director for a performing Arts organisation and Director of Australian Institute of Managers and Leaders.

Art is a screen music composer, songwriter and guitarist. He toured internationally with Minnie Riperton, Barry Manilow, George Benson, John Rowles, The Lettermen, John Rowles, and Demis Roussos as musical director/guitarist, and has co-written the Top 10 Billboard R&B single ‘Here We Go’, for Minnie Riperton.

Phillips is a multi-award winning composer, including two Emmy Awards for ‘Outstanding Music Composition in a Drama Series’, gold and platinum RIAA record awards, and numerous screen music awards, including 2,000 hours of credits in composing and producing music for the screen.

Art’s music scores and his production music publishing catalogue / record label (101 Music) have been used on television shows throughout the world including Santa Barbara, Married At First Sight, Neighbours, Top Gear, Jimmy Fallon, Oprah, Current Affair (USA & Australia), Celebrating Betty White: America’s Golden Girl (NBC/USA), Survivor, Hollywood Medium, 6o Minutes (USA & Australia), Twisted Sister, Dateline, Cold Case Files, The Dog Whisperer, E-True Hollywood Story, America’s Most Wanted, Celebrity Profile, NYPD Blue, Good Morning America, Dancing With The Stars, The Ricki Lake Show, Amazing Medical Stories, Harry’s Practice, The Great Outdoors, and Extra-The Entertainment Magazine Show, and the Today Show.

Phillips has lectured for many years in both business administration skillsets and music creativity - and has run his own businesses for over 40 years.

He is a Fellow of the Academy of Music & Performing Arts (AMPA), a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Music (AIM), a Fellow of The Institute of Managers & Leaders (IML, Australia/New Zealand), a Fellow of the Centre for Entrepreneurship at the Universal Business School of Sydney (UBSS), and a Fellow of the Centre for Scholarship & Research at UBSS.

Art is a recipient of 4 consecutive Executive Dean Awards for ‘Outstanding Teaching in the Postgraduate Program’ at the Universal Business School Sydney (UBSS) and is the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship at UBSS.
