It’s particularly exciting to be able to welcome the first 32 Members who have been awarded the new Chartered Manager designation from the Institute. Becoming a Chartered Manager is the highest status you can achieve as a leader and will increase your employability, demonstrate your managerial competence and prove that you possess sought after and transferable leadership skills. The Chartered Management team have received great feedback from over 150 applicants who are currently going through the assessment process. Applicants report that the actual application process itself is really worthwhile and although quite challenging, it is also very rewarding. August marks the final month of the Membership renewal period and from 31st August your Membership will lapse if you have not already renewed. I strongly encourage you to renew today and stay in the leadership conversation.

We are also delighted to announce the winner of our immensely popular Membership renewal competition for July. One of the many ways to be a part of the leadership conversation is by attending our Masterclass series, currently being hosted across the major cities. Masterclasses are our new signature event series to address the current and future leadership challenges that managers and leaders are facing in a modern and constantly changing workplace. Masterclass offers an interactive forum, to not only hear from the industry experts and network with other exceptional leaders, but also to get all your questions answered by the IML management and leadership community. We have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees with one comment particularly standing out from our recent Sydney Masterclass, who enthusiastically expressed that the Masterclass “should be mandatory for all managers”.

Looking ahead to September and the remainder of the year, the Institute has many more initiatives including the release of our first book Leadership Matters – 7 skills of very successful leaders, the ever-popular Leadership Matters Conference and the Australian Leadership Excellence Awards.
