Leading Edge February 2018 Edition | Griffith University Partnership

The Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) is proud to offer unique Partnership and Accreditation opportunities to Universities in Australia and New Zealand.

In February 2018, the Institute of Managers and Leaders partnered with Griffith University to accredit their MBA program. As the first IML Pathway Partner, Griffith University is the first university in Australia and New Zealand to give MBA students fast-tracked access to the internationally recognised Chartered Manager (CMgr) designation. Students enrolled in the fully flexible MBA from January 2018 will now graduate with an additional globally recognised diploma in strategic management and leadership, which will allow them to apply for and receive the CMgr designation within weeks of receiving their MBA.

What does the partnership involve?

Upon graduating with their Master’s degrees, students will receive the internationally recognised Level 7 (AQF Level 9) Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute. This added qualification will further prove their practical leadership skills and their ability to effectively implement modern management theory in the workplace.

MBA students will also automatically qualify for the fast-track exemption route to CMgr status. The Chartered Manager designation is the highest status that can be achieved as a management professional and is conferred by the Privy Council in London, UK. In Australia and New Zealand, this Chartered designation is offered exclusively by IML by virtue of a strategic alliance with the Chartered Management Institute, following a rigorous assessment process.

During their studies, Griffith MBA students will also be supported with Affiliate Membership of the Institute. They will have access to the Institute’s suite of professional development services, including one-on-one mentoring, a professional resource database and the largest network of managers and leaders in Australia.
