The Institute of Managers and Leaders is excited to present the 2018 Leadership Outlook series on the topic of creating a mentally healthy workplace, in conjunction with beyondblue.
The Institute will be joined by members of the beyondblue workplace engagement team as they present a practical and thought-provoking workshop, followed by a panel discussion of local managers and leaders who will share their experiences.
This session will:
- Provide a forum for employers to learn about best practice approaches in workplace mental health
- Increase your knowledge and skills in applying a strategic, evidence based methodology to create mentally healthy workplaces
- Outline strategies for adopting an integrated approach to workplace mental health including: minimising risk, supporting those with mental health conditions and promoting the positives within the workplace
- Provide overview of free resources and tools available through the HeadsUp website.
The workshop will include a practical case study to work through your learnings. Join us for what is always an interactive and informative kick off workshop for the year.
Michael’s work experience includes over twenty years in various operational and management roles in the mining and information technology business units of BHP, followed by a period in a major information technology company and a state based OHS regulator.
For the past twelve years Michael has worked at beyondblue, an independent, not-for-profit organisation working to ensure that all Australians achieve their best mental health.
His current role of Workplace Engagement Manager combines his professional and personal experience of depression/anxiety so as to advocate to corporations, industry associations and peak bodies about the benefits of improving mental health within their workplaces.
